Task Analysis of Presentation and Paper

Some basic notes from our last discussion on how I would break down these assignments into their basic components.

This is a reference, not a requirement.
Focus on the syllabus for the absolute requirements.
Everything else is a matter of effective and persuasive communication.

I got a little crazy with the details and kept typing.
Y'all are doctoral students.
You should know your learning-style and ability to get your work done better than I.
Therefore, I do not require interim-steps on large assignments to the same degree as I do undergraduate (the most) and master-level (somewhere in-between) students.

1. Pick site and specific context.
2. Read explanation of assignments in Syllabus.
3. Start Outlining - Then free-writing or making a rough draft for analysis.
1. General Notes on description of  your organization.
2. Structural
1. Charts on organization (Hierarchy, processes, people, etc.)
1. Do any of these already exist?
2. References that may help you make your own flow-charts or organizational charts. (My review of these sites was very superficial.)

1. All of the stuff that gets lost when breaking things down into individual frames.

5. Work on presentation and handouts.

1. Ask self, "How does my rough-draft, presentation, and handout fit or deviate from explanation in Syllabus?" Adjust as necessary.
7. Provide me, or do not,  a copy of materials with enough time to review and provide feedback.
1. If emailing for first time, send another email without attachment. Just to make sure you don't get SPAM-filtered.
8. I will either provide feedback or you will find things that you will want to tweak after presentation. DON'T FREAK OUT! Just make the necessary adjustments.
9. Hand it in.
